Yad Sarah on High Alert amid Israel’s Heightened Security Concerns

Jerusalem – Sunday, August 4, 2024 – Amid elevated concerns over an escalation of large-scale attacks on Israel led by Iran and Hezbollah, Yad Sarah has placed its 127 branches across the country on heightened precautionary alert, significantly increasing activity in its 29 northern branches

These measures reflect Yad Sarah’s deep commitment to supporting the people of Israel, reaffirming its dedication in the wake of the tragic July 28 rocket attack that claimed the lives of 12 young people and injured dozens in Majdal Shams.

In light of the tragedy, Yad Sarah has taken swift action to support the reeling community. Volunteers, some of whom are related to victims, paid their respects to the bereaved families and visited the site of the attack. The Majdal Shams branch is currently fully operational, ready to assist the community with home medical equipment needs. Yad Sarah is also sending additional equipment to Ziv Medical Center in Safed to aid in the recovery and return home of injured victims.

Despite the significant security and safety challenges in Northern Israel, all of Yad Sarah’s branches remain active, including those in Safed, Haifa, Nahariah, Afula, Tiberius, Akko, Kiryat Ata, Beit Shean, Karmiel, Kiryat Bialik and Majdal Shams. In Kiryat Shmona, which has been under official evacuation since October 20, the volunteers continue to extend services on a limited, per-need basis.
