Yad Sarah Dedicates the “Susser Center” for Enhanced Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services in Netanya Area

The center houses enhanced healthcare and rehabilitation services as well as a therapeutic garden

Netanya, ISRAEL, January 2, 2025Yad Sarah, Israel’s leading non-governmental healthcare and social services organization, celebrated the dedication and naming of the organization’s Netanya branch as the “Susser Center” on December 26th, 2024. The unveiling honored the facility’s role in expanding the reach of Yad Sarah’s healthcare and rehabilitation services to residents of Netanya and the surrounding Sharon region.

Named in honor of the late David Susser, guests of the event included Yad Sarah Founder, Rabbi Uri Lupolianski; Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lau; Deputy Mayor of Netanya, Tali Mulner; Yad Sarah CEO, Moshe Cohen; Executive Director of Friends of Yad Sarah USA, Adele Goldberg; and Trustee of the Susser Family Trust, Michael Greenberg.

Established through a generous donation from the Susser family, the Susser Center serves as a regional hub, offering a comprehensive range of health, rehabilitation, and welfare services. It features a new therapeutic garden designed to provide patients and their families with a relaxing environment, cutting-edge rehabilitation facilities, advanced medical and at-home hospital equipment lending, and community support programs such as pro-bono legal work for the elderly and life story documentation.

During the ceremony, attendees explored the therapeutic garden, which serves as a place of healing for patients and their families. In a symbolic act, donors planted commemorative plants in the garden, highlighting their vital role in bringing the center to life.

Netanya’s Deputy Mayor, Tali Mulner, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the city and its residents. She highlighted the decades of Yad Sarah’s contributions to the community, noting how the new center, made possible through the generosity of the Susser family, further enhances the quality of life for residents in the region.

The event was emceed by Philip Bendheim, Head of International Affairs at Yad Sarah and a Director of its International Board of Overseers, and a board member of Friends of Yad Sarah USA. It featured a presentation by Rabbi Uri Lupolianski, Founder of Yad Sarah, and a special prayer led by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lau. The prayer, dedicated to the safe return of Israel’s hostages and soldiers, resonated deeply with the current atmosphere of hope and resilience in Israel.
